The simulators are designed to master basic driving skills and enhance driving techniques in simulated urban traffic environment with many road users.
The simulator enables practical training of drivers in the conditions approximated to actual vehicle cabin environment, with no risks and no depreciation in operation of actual vehicle.
The simulator includes real-size model of the vehicle cabin and instructor module intended to supervise the trainee’s actions. View of the controls and instrumentation in the cabin, as well as their layout, correspond to the actual controls and instrumentation installed in the cabin of a real vehicle.
The cabin is mounted on 3DOF electromechanical dynamic platform to simulate the dynamic effects observed in the real vehicle cabin in motion. The simulated environment is displayed on front and side visualization systems.
LiAZ-6274 electrobus driving simulator – trainee’s workstation and 3D electrobus model
NEFAZ-5299 autobus driving simulator – trainee’s workstation and 3D autobus model
71-931 tram driving simulator – trainee’s workstation and 3D tram model
Simulator classroom
3DOF dynamic platform is a firmly fixed rectangular platform with vibration and vertical motion mechanism and electronic control equipment.
The instructor panel is intended to control the simulator And includes the set of screen forms to load, control And manage the exercises in progress.
DRIVING AREA MAP
The map is located in top left part of the instructor’s panel and represents schematic view of the exercises area. The map contains the following designations of local objects:
• Road network.
• Driving track.
• Icons of emergency situations.
• Static objects (houses, trees, installations).
• Vehicle position on track.
• Traffic lights.
MAIN MENU
Main menu is located in top right part of the instructor´s panel. It provides access
to main simulator control commands:
• Input of trainees log data.
• Loading the exercises.
• Changing weather and visibility conditions.
• Input of training malfunctions.
• Possibility to maintain communication with the driver.
• Saving and printing the results.
DASHBOARD
The board is located in bottom part of the instructor’s panel and displays readings
of gauges and instruments.
It completely simulates the controls, instrumentation and gauges located in vehicle
cabin.
• Multi-channel full-scale ultra-high definition (4K) visualization system provides same view from the driver’s seat as seen from a real vehicle and includes simulation of FoVs observed through the front window, left side window, right side window (observed through the driver’s cabin door), left rear-view mirror and right rear-view mirror.
• Mirror simulators are embedded as virtual windows within the screens of front and side visualization systems. The field-of-view displayed by each mirror is adjustable.
The simulator software features advanced dynamic road traffic simulation system considering dense urban traffic and key behavior peculiarities from the position of a route vehicle driver. The simulation system is implemented on the basis of multi-agent approach to ensure realistic behavior of various road users, traffic lights and traffic controller signals.
SIMULATED ROAD USERS:
• observe road traffic rules;
• observe road signs and markings;
• respond to traffic lights and traffic controllers’ signals;
• respond to other road users in motion, including in maneuvers
and crossing the intersections;
• respond to the signals given by the trainees;
• respond to special signal vehicles in accordance with traffic code
regulations.
The simulator software supports all currently relevant road signs
and marking types, including dedicated lanes for public transport,
as necessary to create the road infrastructure in a modern city.
